Greetings from Riga! (Joroinen - Riga)

At half past one in the morning we met at the school and packed our bus. Before leaving we were told to check whether we had our passports with us. Luckily, we noticed in time that one boy had left his passport at home and his mom brought it to the bus stop. After this the Eurotour 2016 could start.

Everyone was at least trying to sleep on the bus and we had one stop in Heinola. The journey to Helsinki went surprisingly fast and then we arrived at the harbour. The crossing went well and it lasted two hours. We had breakfast at Burger King at 7.30. That was quite different compared to our normal morning porridge.

In Tallinn we set out on our journey to Riga right away and the first stop was near Pärnu. Estonia was really pretty and summery. We ate a tasty packed lunch that the kitchen staff had made for us.

On the bus we watched a movie and some slept. Ronja, Jesse, Henri and Sami kept presentations about Estonia, Latvia and Riga. It is nice to hear about cities and countries before going there.

The second stop was at a gas station in Latvia. We had some sandwiches and some got excited about trying swings in the yard. They were big and different than what we have got used to in Finland. Even four people fit well on one swing. After this we drove for an hour and then we arrived in Riga.

First in Riga we went to our hostel. We slept in different sized rooms. Most brought their stuff into the their rooms and then left for the city. We walked around the city center and went shopping and sightseeing. Riga was really pretty and there were a lot of churches. Everyone got back to the hostel at their own time and went to bed because we were all very tired after a long day.

In the morning we woke up at seven o'clock, packed our bags, had breakfast, packed our stuff on the bus and then headed to Poland.

Everything has gone well and we are looking forward to the rest of the trip!
